Alaska's Mount Redoubt has showed significant seismic activity all day today. The volcano observatory a week ago detected a sharp increase in earthquake activity below the volcano, and upgraded its alert level to orange, one stage below red for a full eruption. Nature is so fascinating isn't it.

My 10-year-old was standing here when I opened up this post...his comment? "Is that an atomic bomb?"
When I told him that it actually was a volcano...he was pretty freaked about that!
Nature...so incredibly powerful!!

(I'm doing some catch-up on my reading...in case you are wondering!! :-D)
